Professor at the EMMS Group of the State Key Laboratory of Multiphase Complex Systems of Institute of Process Engineering (IPE) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)
Ning Yang graduated in 1996 with a B.S. degree in mineral processing at Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, and received a M.S. degree in mineral processing in 1999 at China University of Mining and Technology at Beijing. Then he started with his Ph.D. study at Institute of Process Engineering of CAS supervised by Prof. Jinghai Li on the multiscale simulation of gas-solid two-phase flow in fluidization, devoted to develop the EMMS drag model (Energy-Minimization Multi-scale) to improve the multiphase CFD simulation, and finished the Ph.D. requirements in 2003. Then he was appointed as an assistant professor at IPE. From October 2004, he worked in the Institute of Fluid Mechanics of Toulouse in France (IMFT, CNRS/INP/UPS) as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2006, he returned the EMMS group at the Institute of Process Engineering of CAS and became an associate professor in 2008. In 2012, he was appointed as a professor and obtained the Excellent Young Scientist Fund from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He is a member of Youth Council of China Society of Particuology (CSP), and the secretary of the 3rd and 4th International Conference on Multiscale Structures and Systems in Process Engineering (http://www.mesoscience.org).
